Roam Queen street shops. This is basically the hub of the city where you can find all of the major shops, plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants.
Take a leisurely stroll through Southbank and admire the gorgeous views of the gardens and green lands. You can also ride the Wheel of Brisbane (Ferris wheel), take a dip in the man made sandy beach lagoon or dine at one of the many restaurants and bars. If you find yourself here on a weekend, there are also weekend markets plus a number of free events that take place at Southbank frequently.
Catch Brisbane’s city cat and cruise the length of the Brisbane River and see the University of Queensland (QUT), The Regatta Hotel, South Bank and the CBD from the water.
Visit the Botanical Gardens. It’s a free entry to get into and open every day with the option to take a guided tour through (only from Monday to Saturday 11am or 1pm).
Hike (or you can drive) to the top of Mt Coottha for spectacular views of Brisbane and Moreton Bay. Here there are acres of sub tropical gardens, and if you aren’t in a rush to leave, dine at the award winning café or restaurant up there.
Check out the New Farm Farmers Market every Saturday and Sunday. Even if you aren’t there on the weekend, New Farm is home to many trendy and exclusive food cafes that won’t disappoint any coffee fiend or foodie.

Jump on a ferry or take a booked tour over to Moreton bay, Stradbroke Island or Fraser Island. Each island is stunning and vary in uniqueness and landscape but you can bet it will be well worth a trip over to one or all of them to experience some of the untouched swimmable beaches, sand boarding, snorkelling and dolphin spotting.
Get out of the city and head to Eat Street Markets on either a Friday or Saturday night. It costs $2 to get in but well worth it when you discover the amazing street style food and desert trucks inside. The hardest decision is what to get!
Head to Kangaroo Point Cliffs for some spectacular views of the city – or go there at sunset for an extra gorgeous view.
